Did you ever see wisdom as being with the Lord at creation? Reading through these verses, we see wisdom describing itself as being there "in the beginning" as a "master workman" (v30). The Lord found delight in wisdom daily and wisdom delighted daily in the sons of men. We can look back and see today, through science, the "Master Design" of the universe and the deep wisdom in the organization, the function, and the inexplicable design of all things. Who could calculate the placing of all the stars and planets in place, yet also create man where no two fingerprints are alike. Constructing our DNA, yet also calculating the high and low tides to such exact position. This is much more than knowledge and intelligence. It is intelligence with a purpose and design - design to such a degree that it sustains life. Consider for a second what would happen if the earth were just a few degrees off in its calculated orbit. What if the earth were unable to produce oxygen? What if the moon were closer or further away from earth? What if we were closer or further from the sun?
This passage concludes with wisdom pleading for men to listen to her call. Wisdom is a "must have" in the making of a successful life. Read verses 35 and 36 again, then ask yourself, "What am I doing about getting wisdom in my life?"
