Reports To: Chairman of the Deacons
The Public Safety Ministry exists to fill a variety of needs. First, this ministry is responsible for providing safety and security for our members and visitors, and for protecting the church campus and property. This includes providing safety inspections and security patrols of church property, conducting background checks for staff members and for volunteers who work with children and youth, installing and managing safety and security systems, and responding to medical emergencies during church services and large events.
The Public Safety Ministry also provides outreach and ministry to public safety personnel, both career and volunteer. The ministry coordinator, Robert McCool, serves as chaplain for the Madison County Rescue Squad, Inc. and provides chaplaincy services on request to other public safety agencies. Public safety personnel who would like information about this ministry, or to speak with Robert or another public safety chaplain, are encouraged to contact Robert or the BHCC office.
Finally, the Public Safety Ministry works with the Benevolence Ministry to coordinate aid efforts for victims of disasters and emergencies.
